High in the mountains of southwestern Saudi Arabia, Abhā is the capital of the Asir region and one of the country's most visited summer destinations, known for its mild climate and elevated terrain. The city sits among the Hejaz mountains, with dramatic highland scenery that has earned it the nickname "Bride of the South." A short drive from water and surrounded by peaks, it draws visitors escaping the heat of the Arabian lowlands.
